What happens during a treatment?
The treatment is quick and simple, using very fine single sterile disposable needles. The ear is cleaned with an antibacterial wipe before treatment to reduce the risk of any infection. Up to about 5 needles are placed in each ear for approximately 30-45 minutes whilst you sit and rest. The treatment requires no removal of clothing other than being able to access the ears. The treatment can be conducted on an individual basis or is just as effective in a group setting.
Ear Acupuncture is not described as a painful treatment however you may feel a brief, sharp sensation as the needle penetrates the skin. Some points are more sensitive than others and this sensation is unique to each individual. After treatment, the needles will be carefully removed and disposed off carefully in a sharps bin.
